Five months have passed since I came Adelaide. Winter has already come to Australia. It is cold every day, especially in the evenings, so I always wear my boots and my coat. In early March my host mother and I made gyoza and mitarashi dumplings, they weren't too bad, but teaching how to make them was difficult.
Two months ago I graduated from Language School, and I left my classmates. I took many tests and talked with my teacher and my classmates when I was there. I also went to Cleland Wildlife Park, South Australia Museum, a city library, and other places. I could learn and enjoy English while I was there.
Four days after I graduated, I started classes at St. Aloysius. I was worried about talking with my classmates, friends and teachers because I still couldn't understand what people said. So I told them that when you say something to me, please speak slowly. Then they always said things slowly to me. Also, I still don't have confidence in my English and I don't know many English words, so I'm scared to say anything. Most of the students are very kind and friendly to me, so I could make some friends.
Every Monday after school, I play the trumpet in the jazz band at school. One of my closest friends invited me to join the jazz band. She plays the alto saxophone there.
The day before the June 4th exams was my birthday. I celebrated it with my friends and my host family. I got some presents and a birthday cake from my host family. Also I got a birthday card and many birthday balloons from my friends. It was a lovely day. And my exams results were pretty good. After the exam I had work experience at the Year 1 reception class at St. Aloysius. I enjoyed checking the student's reading in the morning, and talking and playing with the students afterwards. And, I was glad to be able to help the teacher.
I have experienced many things so far, but they aren't enough. I want to experience everything possible and enjoy my life in Adelaide for my remaining time here.
