SEC高2 ニュージーランドターム留学レポート⑥
ニュージーランドに来て、1ヶ月以上経ちました。生活には十分に慣れてきたと思います。ホストファミリーとの距離も日が経つにつれて近くなってきました。不安だった学校も、気づいたら毎日友達に会うことが楽しみになっています。授業は日本で日本語でやっていた授業が英語になって、最初は困ることがたくさんありました。何をすればよいか分からない時に、人に助けを求めることが自分にとって難しかったと感じました。自分から話しかけるときの不安が大きく、話しかける前に何度も伝えたいことを頭の中で繰り返し練習していましたが、いざという時に「Excuse me, uhh......」と、言葉が出てこないこともありました。でも現地の生徒たちはとてもフレンドリーで、文法が間違っていても普通に会話してくれています。会話ができるととても気持ちがいいです。今では最初の頃より現地の人との会話がスムーズにできてきたと感じ、来たばかりのときのホームシックは消えてきて，授業も先生の言っていることも、だんだん分かるようになってきました。授業の中では、Art photographyの授業が思ったより自分に合っていました。授業ではPhotoshopというアプリを使った写真編集を学んでいます。デザインや写真における基本的な表現方法について理解を深められ、今のところすごく楽しいです。当然、分からない時は先生や友達に聞いたり、辞書で調べたりしています。何事にも焦らずに、自分のペースでがんばっていきたいです。
休日は、ホストファミリーとショッピングモール行ったり、映画を観に行ったり、色んな所に行きました。オークランド動物園やオークランドセントラルにも行きました。久しぶりに動物園行ったので、とてもワクワクしました。今回はニュージーランドを象徴する鳥「キーウィ」は残念ながら見れなかったので、帰国前に一回は見てみたいです。オークランドセントラルでは、スカイタワーを見に行くことができました。まだまだ行きたい場所があるので、もっと積極的に出かけてみたいです。楽しむときは全力で楽しみ、頑張るときは全力で頑張り、残りの留学生活を大切に過ごしたいです。
It's been over one month since I came to New Zealand. I think I've gotten used to life here. My relationship with my host family has been better over time. Although I was worried about school before, now I find myself excited to meet my friends every day. At first, I found it difficult because the classes that I was taking in Japan were in Japanese and now they are all in English. When I don't know what to do in class, I had difficult time asking someone for help. I was so nervous to talk with people, so I practiced by myself before trying to speak but when it's time to speak, sometimes I'd be like "Excuse me, uhh......". But the local students here are very friendly and even if my grammar isn't correct, I'm still able to have a normal conversation. It feels good to be able to talk with the local students. Now, compared to the beginning, I feel that I can talk with locals more smoothly, the homesickness I felt when arriving here has mostly disappeared and now I'm able to keep up what the teacher is saying step by step. Out of all classes, I feel like the art photography class suits me more than I thought. In this class, we used the app called photoshop and learning how to edit pictures. I have been deepening my understanding of basic techniques in design and photography, and so far, I am really enjoying it. And of course, I ask teachers or friends for help, or use dictionary. So, I will try not to rush and keep taking things at my own pace and keep trying my best.
On my days off, I went to shopping malls with my host family, I went to watch movies in cinema and visited many places. I went to the Auckland zoo and Auckland central city too. It's been a long time since I went to a zoo, so it was very exciting. Unfortunately, I couldn't see the bird Kiwi, but I will try to go see it before going home. At Auckland central, I was able to see the sky tower. There are still a lot of places I want to go so I'm looking forward to it. I hope to make the most of the remaining days of my study abroad, enjoying myself to the fullest, and working as hard as I can. (SEC S2 Z.D.)
