Genevieve -

On Wednesday, Saito Sensei and I went to the Ghibli museum. Although everything was in Japanese, it was really interesting. The museum design is very cool and unique. It was as if it was from a Ghibli film.
First, we went to a room that showed how the animation worked. There were spinning pictures and figurines that moved very fast, so it looked like they were alive! There were also little movies playing that showed all the mechanics of the animation as well.
Then we went to an exhibition that showed the process of making the movies, from the idea stage to filming it. My favourite Ghibli films are Laputa, Arrietty, Ponyo, and from Up on Poppy Hill, and there were lots of Laputa drawings. We saw some of the history of Ghibli films as well. There was a very big statue of the robot from Laputa too.
We went to the shop, and then saw two short Ghibli films, - one about engines + airships in Ghibli films, and one about sumo wrestling mice. It was very interesting.
After that, we went to have lunch. We had sukiyaki which was cheap and delicious, and then went to the bakery.
After that, we walked back to the station and back to school.
