【ニュージーランド】タカプナグラマースクールより - Y.T -
約10ヶ月間の留学生活も残すところあと1週間となりました。ひとつの文を作るのにかかる時間も短くなり、友達との会話も中身のある充実したものになりました。
9月の終わりにschool ballと呼ばれる学校主催のパーティーに参加しました。school ballは上級生を対象としたドレスコードのあるフォーマルなパーティーで、みんなドレスやスーツを着て参加します。綺麗に装飾された会場や、豪華なドレスを着た友達はとても素敵でした。
この10ヶ月間で本当にたくさんの思い出ができました。ニュージーランドにきたばかりの頃は、思うように言葉が出ず、うまく会話ができずもどかしい思いをしたことや、英語が自分の期待したレベルまでなかなか到達せず、不安になることもたくさんありました。しかし、留学をしたからこそ出会えた国籍も話す言葉もバラバラな友達と過ごした時間からはたくさんのことを学べましたし、辛かった思い出も全て、私を強くしてくれたと思います。この経験は、これからも活かしていきたいと思います。

Nearly ten months have gone and I only have a week left here. The time it takes me to complete a sentence has become shorter, which has helped to make my conversations more meaningful.
Anyway, I attended a party called the school ball that was held by the school. A school ball is a formal party for senior students and everyone dresses up in a dress or tuxedo to the ball. The hall was adorned and everyone was gorgeous in their beautiful dresses. We don't have any dance party held by the school in Japan so I was so glad to go to the school ball.
I got a lot of memories in these ten months. I couldn't say what I wanted to say in English at first, and it was frustrating. Sometimes I feared that my English was not improving as much as I expected. Sometimes I felt that I was not supposed to be in a class. However, I have learned a lot of things in the time that I spent with my friends with different nationalities, and I'm sure that everything I have experienced here has made me stronger, even the painful experiences. Lastly, I'm really thankful to everyone who has supported me like my teachers, friends and family. Thanks to everyone, I had an amazing experience.
