Study abroad report
I studied abroad in Delta, Canada for three months. It was my second time there. I went to Sands Secondary School. I studied P.E., science, art, math, computer planning and English. I made many friends there. They were very kind and helped me, so my school life had been enhanced. I have one regret. I wish I had learned to read and write cursive because those who couldn't read it struggled in class. I had a hard time there, but there also times when it was fun and interesting, like doing something with other students in the class, talking with students at lunch time and playing sports.
School wasn't the only place I enjoyed. It was fun outside of school, but I also had a hard time. My host family hosted three other boys from overseas. In the photo starting from the right are Jone, Oliver and Geo. Jone and Geo were from Korea. They were elementary school students. Sometimes they went somewhere with their friends. I also went with them to play. They spoke in Korean so we had trouble communicating, but it was so much fun. I want to meet them again.
Oliver was a Chinese student. We went to the same school. We spent a lot of time together. While I was in Canada, he always helped me and talked with me. His friend Tony was studying in Canada, too. He lived near us. When Oliver and I went somewhere, he came, too. They talked in Chinese so I couldn't understand them. I will never forget the time I spent with them.
This is a picture of my host family. On the right is my host brother, Shell, and next to him is my host mother, Anita. Shell is a grade 11 student. I feel that I talked with him the most. He asked me about school life, Japan, and Japanese anime. He likes anime very much. He put anime sound effects on his smartphone.
Anita always prepared nice meals. I liked them very much. My host family was very nice. I'm so glad I met them!
There were many things that I experienced, some enjoyable, some sad, and some painful. I think all of them will help me grow as a person.
