【カナダ】サンズ・セカンダリーより - M.T -
この秋、留学を始めた生徒たちからの経験談や、これから留学したり留学に興味があったりする人への応援メッセージが届きましたので、ご紹介します！
今回は、カナダのサンズセカンダリースクールのＭ．Ｔさんからです。
カナダにきて二週間が経ちました。初めての土地で家族や友達と離れて生活するという事は私にとってすごく不安でした。
学校では一人一人にそれぞれ違う授業構成が存在し、毎時間別の教室に移動しています。もちろん留学生だけでなく、元からいる生徒の方も一緒です。
授業は全くついていけません。ですが自分が「わからない。」という意思表示をすると、席が近くの子や先生が助けてくれます。それでもわからない場合は先生によって「やらなくてもいいよ。」と言ってくれたり、何度も翻訳機能を使って説明してくれる先生もいらっしゃいました。ホストファミリーも皆優しく、私が理解できるように何回も喋りかけてくれます。わたしも早く英語に慣れて、翻訳機能に頼らず色々な事に挑戦したいです。

Two weeks have passed since I came to Canada. It was terribly uneasy for me to live apart from my family and friends on my first time land. Each students has a different schedule at school, and I move to different classroom every hour. Of course, not only foreign students but Canadian students do so. I cannot understand the class at all. However, when expressing the intention that I cannot understand, people who are nearby and teachers will help me. If I still do not understand, the teacher says, "You do not have to do it." Or teacher explains, using the translation tool. Host family is gentle. They kindly explain until I understand. I want to challenge myself to try new things, getting used to English and not relying on translation tools as soon as possible.
