【ニュージーランド】エイボンサイドガールズハイスクールより - Y.H -
ニュージーランドに着いてから学校に行くまで数日間あったので、ホストファミリーとショッピングをしました。留学に行った友達と一緒におでかけしたりもしました。ホストマザーに出かける理由を伝える必要がありました。英語で伝えるのに少し戸惑いましたが、このときをきっかけに英語を話すことに対しての抵抗が和らぎました。最初はニュージーランドの英語は結構訛っていて聞き取るのがすごくむずかしかったです。しかし、生活していくうちに慣れていきました。学校でも訛りはきついですが聞き直して積極的にコミュニケーションをとっていくと、自然と挨拶できるようになりました。学校生活は充実していると思います。

After arriving in New Zealand, I had a few days before school started, so I went shopping with my host family. Other day I went shopping with my friends. I had to say why I was going out. I was a little perplexed about how to explain my reason in English but my resistance to speaking English has eased. English in New Zealand has got an accent, so catching the words was very hard for me. However, I got used to it as I lived here. The accent is hard at school too, but when I ask again and have proactive communication, I can greet people naturally. I think my school life is well-rounded.
