【ニュージーランド】エイボンサイドガールズハイスクールより - M.S -
ニュージーランドについてから約1ヶ月がすぎ、行く前は長いなと思っていた1タームも残り半分となってしまいました。
このクライストチャーチで私はたくさんの体験をすることができました。友達とビーチやモールに行ったり、ホストファミリーと庭園などに行き観光をしたりなど、たくさんの思い出もできました。
到着前からニュージーランドは自然が豊かだと言われていたため、どんなところなのだろうかと不安に思っていましたが実際は私にとてもあっている所でした。少し車を走らせれば牛や羊がいたり、見渡すと海や山があったりなどがあったり、バスも定期的に通っているので交通に不便がありません。スーパーも日本と比べ全体的に規模が大きく、初めて見たときは大変驚きました。
初めは授業について行くのが大変で復習などを帰ってきてから家でする毎日でしたが、段々とペースが合うようになってくると放課後や休日に友達と遊びに行ったりホストファミリーと話せる時間も増えていきました。また、授業のペースが掴めてくると、少しずつその時間に現地の生徒と一緒に受けたり、話し合ったりできるようになってきました。留学生に慣れているからか、先生たちも質問をすると私がわかるまでしっかりと教えてくれます。私はパシフィカスタディという太平洋の島々に関する授業があったのですが、現地の子が進んでグループに入れてくれたため、とても嬉しかったです。そして、留学生も多く、中国やタイ、ドイツからも来ている子がいて驚きました。私は昼食時によくドイツの子と一緒に食べていたのですが、お互いの国の公用語が英語でないため言葉が伝わりにくく、ジェスチャーなどを使ってよく会話をしました。学校生活が始まりたての時、運動会のようなものが学校でありました。クラスの子達と協力して挑戦しました。水をスポンジを使って運んだり、歌で応援したりなどしました。とても楽しかったです。

It's been about a month since I came to New Zealand. There is only half of the term I thought was long before I arrived.
I was able to get a lot of experience in Christchurch. I have a lot of memories, such as going to the beach and mall with my friends, going to the garden with my host family, and sightseeing.
I was worried about how's place was before I arrived, but it was a very good place for me. There is a lot of nature. For example, if I drive a little, there are cows and sheep, if I look around, there are seas and mountains. Also, buses pass regularly so that I can move easily. The supermarket is also large compared to Japan, and I was surprised when I saw it for the first time.
At first, it was hard to keep up with the class, so I reviewed every day at home after I came back, but as the pace gradually matched, I could hang out with my friends after school and on holidays, and I had more time to talk with my host family. Also, I was able to discuss with New Zealand's students at that time little by little. Maybe because they're used to international students, the teachers also teach me firmly until I understand when I ask questions. I had a class on Pacific Island called Pacific Study. Then, NZ's students added me to their group, so I was thrilled. And there were many international students, and I was surprised that they were from China, Thailand, and Germany. I often ate with German student at lunch, but it was difficult to talk because the official language of each country is not English, so we often talked using gestures. When school life started, school held something like a sports day. I challenged it in cooperation with students in my class. I carried water using a sponge and cheered for it with songs. It was a lot of fun.
