【ニュージーランド】シャーリーボーイズハイスクールより - Y.T -
ニュージーランドに来て一か月が経ちました。季節が秋に変わり肌寒く感じることも増えてきました。学校生活にも慣れてき、授業の内容も少しずつ理解できるようになってきました。ホストファミリーはとても優しく週末は4WDに連れて行ってくれたりします。放課後はフットサルとサーフィンをしています。フットサルはインターナショナルチームとして出させてもらっていて、咄嗟に英語でコミュニケーションをとるのが難しいですがとても楽しいです。
先週運動会のようなものがあり、リレーには先生も参加したりしていてとても盛り上がっていました。毎週金曜日にはハウスごとに分かれて行われる集会が開かれていて、週によっては小さいゲームをするので毎週楽しみにしています。
私の家にはよく違う国からきた同世代の留学生や、ギャップイヤーで世界を旅している人が泊まりに来たりするのでいろいろな経験や文化を知ることができるので楽しいです。2週間ほど前に南極からアメリカの方が泊まりにきていて今まで聞いたことないような話をたくさんしてくれました。特に南極で働いているNASAの方々の話が印象的でした。

It has been one month since I came to NZ. Since I have been in New Zealand the seasons have changed from summer to autumn and it is starting to get colder. I am starting to get used to school life and am slowly starting to be able to understand the topic of conversation in the classroom. My host family is very kind and on weekends they often take me off-roading in their 4WD car. After school, I usually play Futsal and go surfing. I play Futsal with other international students who come from several different countries, therefore communication between the team in English can be difficult but it's a lot of fun!
Last week, we had athletics. The teachers joined in for the relays, and it created a great atmosphere.
Every week on Friday we have an assembly where we are separated by our houses and depending on the week we play a small game; I look forward to it every week.
At home, there are often other exchange students around the same age or people who are on gap years staying here as well. Learning about their culture and their stories are interesting. Around 2 weeks ago some Americans came from Antarctica and shared stories I've never heard of before. I was especially fascinated by the stories from the people who worked at NASA.
