【カナダ】サンズ・セカンダリーより - D.S -
カナダに来て、約4ヶ月弱経ちます。来た時と比べかなり慣れてきました。バスや電車、店員との会話、友人関係などスムーズにこなせるようになりました。
この4ヶ月弱の間に3回ホストが変わりました。最初のホストはフィリピンの方、2番目のホストはインドの方、最後のホストはカナダの方でした。ホストが4ヶ月弱の間に3回も変わるなどとても異例でしたが、かなり貴重な体験をさせていただきました。
例えば、最初のホストは、毎週パーティをしていて僕も参加したことがあります。ここのホストファミリーには子供が2人いてとても賑やかな空間が広がっていました。僕は英語が上手に話せないけど、子供達と楽しく遊んだ思い出がたくさんあります。帰る前に必ず会いに行きたいです。
最後のホストはとても優しく、僕の不慣れの英語をしっかり分析し、理解しようとしてくれました。家もとても広く、毎日ご飯が豪華でした。
学校生活はだいぶ落ち着いてきました。
最初来た時は日本人とは関わらない！っと決心してきましたが、そこにこだわりすぎる必要はあまりないと感じました。日本人とも関わり、他の人とも関わる、つまり適度にバランスよく人と関わることが大事だと感じました。
また、自分で体感することによって言葉の重みが増すことも改めて実感することができました。残りの数週間を大切に、そして悔いの残らないようにします。

I have been in Canada for less than four months now. Compared to when I came here, I have gotten used to it quite well. For example, I can handle buses, trains, conversations with shopkeepers, and friendships smoothly.
I have changed my host three times during these four months. The first host was from the Philippines, the second from India, and the last from Canada. It was very unusual to change hosts three times in less than four months, but it was a very valuable experience for me.
The first host had a party every week, which I also attended. This host has two children and the space is very lively.
I don't speak English very well, but I have many memories like having fun playing with the kids. I definitely want to visit them before I leave.
My last host was very kind and tried to understand my unintelligible English by analyzing it well.The house is very spacious, and I feel luxurious every day with gorgeous meals.
My school life has settled down. When I first came here, I was determined not to get involved with Japanese people! But I felt that it was not necessary to do so. I felt it was important to be involved with Japanese people and other people, in other words, to be involved with many people in moderation.
I was also able to realize once again that words carry more weight when you experience them for yourself. I will cherish the remaining weeks and have no regrets.
