【ニュージーランド】SECターム留学レポート - S.T -
ホームステイしてあっという間に一週間経ちました。留学してすぐの頃は食文化の違いや、寒暖差、疲労などから体調を崩してしまいましたが、数日で回復しました。先日、ホストマザーの実家のファミリーディナーに招待して頂き、BBQをしました。デザートはビュッフェ形式でとても楽しかったです。中でもアイスクリームは沢山種類があり、濃厚でとても美味しかったです。中心部に近いご実家だったのでスカイタワーが見えるだけでなく、プールやたくさんのお花や絵画がありとても素敵でした。家庭は20人以上から成っていました。イギリスの家系だったこともあり、ほとんどがイギリスや、他のヨーロッパの国の人でした。私1人だけがアジア人だったので、家に入るとき、快く受け入れてくれるかなど心配とても緊張しました。しかしみんな優しい方達ばかりで、ハグしてくれたり沢山日本について質問してくれたり、中には日本に旅行したことある人もいて沢山お話しさせてもらいました。桜や金閣寺や着物の文化や日本食が好きと言っていたので、私が過去に撮った桜の写真やお寿司の写真や中学生の時に修学旅行で金閣寺と銀閣寺に行った時の写真などをみせました。帰りもみんなでそれぞれハグしてから帰る文化が日本ではあまりない為とても心温まりました。

A week has passed quickly since my study abroad began. At first I felt bad because of the differences of food and temperature, but I was able to recover for a few days. Few days ago, my host mother invited me to the home psrty, so I went to my host mother's family home and we had a BBQ. There were many kinds of dessert with buffet format and the ice cream was so sweet and delicious. The family's house was close to the city, so I could see the Sky Tower and there was a pool and beautiful garden and paintings so it was a very wonderful place. Also, there were more than 20 people and most of them were European, so I was worried about whether they would accept me or not, but everyone was so kind, and they hugged me and asked me lots of questions about Japan. Some of them visited Japan and we talked a lot about Japan. I showed many photos such as cherry blossoms, sushi and Kinkakuji,Ginkakuji when I went on a school trip in junior high school because they said they loved their things. When we left home, they were hugging each other. As there was no such culture in Japan, I thought it was a good culture.
