【ニュージーランド】エイボンサイドガールズハイスクールより - S.I. -
ニュージーランドのクライストチャーチに着いて約1ヶ月が経ちました。最初は緊張していたホームステイや学校の授業にも少しずつ慣れてきました。ホストファミリーはみんなとても優しく、いつも私を気にかけてくれます。会話が聞き取れなかった時や、意味がわからなかった時、いつも簡単な英語に言い直してくれて少しずつ理解できるようになりました。
毎週日曜日には教会に行くのですが、そこに通っている他の人達もとてもフレンドリーでとても楽しいです。なかには、初めて会ってから30分ぐらい話せるほど仲良くなれた人もいました。教会では歌を歌うなど慣れないことも多かったですが、行く回数を重ねることで少しずつ順応することができました。
学校の授業では生物・数学・ドラマ・家庭科（調理）・家庭科（縫い物）・キャリアを選択しました。ドラマのクラスでは、演劇の発表に向けて色々準備をしました。私はセバスチャンという役をもらい自分のセリフや舞台上での行動などを約二週間ほどで覚え、本番に臨みました。みんなとても優しく、読み方のわからない単語や舞台上でどうやって動くかなどたくさん教えてくれて、本番は成功できたと思います。
放課後や週末には友達と海やモールに行って遊んでいます。もうすぐで折り返しの時期になるので後悔がないように精一杯頑張ろうと思います。

A month has passed since I arrived at Christ Church, New Zealand. At first, I was nervous about my homestay and school, but I have gradually gotten used to them. My host family is very kind and takes care of me whenever I need help. When I don't understand what people are saying or their meanings, they always rephrase it for me so I can understand.
Every Sunday, we usually go to church. The people who attend the same church are very friendly. I talked to someone I had just met for about 30 minutes. It was my first time singing in church, and although I wasn't used to it at first, I'm getting better with each visit.
In my school timetable, I chose biology, math, drama, food technology, fashion design, and careers. In drama class, we prepared for Drama Day. I was given the role of Sebastian, and I spent two weeks memorizing the lines and movements. Everyone was very kind and helped me with my pronunciation and actions. Thanks to their support, I think Drama Day was a success.
After school and on weekends, I usually go to the beach or the mall with my friends. Since I'm now approaching the halfway point of my stay, I will do my best to avoid having any regrets.
