【ニュージーランド】エイボンサイドガールズハイスクールより - M.S. -
留学スタートから約1ヶ月が経ちました｡最初はまだまだあると思っていましたが､あっという間に残り約1ヶ月です｡
私のホストファミリーはとても優しく､温かく迎えてくれました。始めの数日間は緊張や恐れなどがあり部屋にこもっていましたが､3日目位から部屋から出て同じ空間にいるようにしました。そこからホストマザーや子供達との距離が近くなった気がします。夕食の時間には、その日あった出来事や学校での話をしていて､こういった会話の時間が英語力を伸ばす大きな助けになっていると思います。
学校は慣れてくると楽しいです。現地の子達は自由でグループもできているので最初の方は不安で怖かったですが､留学生に慣れているからか､フレンドリーに話しかけてきてくれます。また授業中や後に質問などをすると､わかりやすく、私が理解できるまでしっかり教えてくれます。
また今回参加した留学生だけのショートトリップで行ったテカポでは､ホットプールに入ったり､スケートやスキーなどをしました。雪がすごくてビックリしました。全てが楽しく､良い思い出になりました。
拙い英語とジェスチャーを使っての会話でも皆しっかりと耳を傾けてくれたり､ゆっくり話してくれるので不安はありつつも安心です。
あと残り約1ヶ月ホストファミリーや学校での時間を大切にして、さらに成長しつつ思いっきり楽しみます!

It has been about one month since I started studying abroad. At first, I thought I had plenty of time, but now I realize I only have about one month left.
My host family is very kind and warmly welcomed me. During the first few days, I felt nervous and scared and stayed in my room, but around the third day, I started spending time with them. Since then, I feel that I have become closer to my host mom and the children. During dinner, we talk about what happened that day and about school, and I think these conversations have helped improve my English skills a lot.
School has become fun as I have gotten used to it. The local students are free-spirited and already have their own groups, so at first, I felt anxious and scared. But because they are used to international students, they have been friendly and talk to me. Also, when I ask questions during or after class, the teachers explain clearly and patiently until I understand.
I went on a short trip to Tekapo, where I enjoyed the hot pools, skating, and skiing. The snow was amazing. Everything was really fun and it became a great memory.
Even though I use poor English and gestures to communicate, everyone listens carefully and speaks slowly. So, although I sometimes feel anxious, I also feel at ease.
With about one month left, I want to cherish the time with my host family and at school, continue growing, and fully enjoy the rest of my stay!
