Schools in Canada are very active in fundraising during the self study periods which take place every day except Wednesdays. Assigned students go around to their designated classes to conduct these activities. I'm gradually getting used to English and finding myself able to express my feelings more often, which has given me a greater sense of ease in my school life. My friends make an effort to communicate with me even when I can't speak well, they try to understand what I mean, teach me things, and listen patiently until I finish. Also, my host family always takes me out somewhere on weekends. Although I live with just the host mother. one of her daughters watches movies or sings English karaoke together. I'm truly grateful for the way they always look out for me.
